Horizontal reservations for Ex-servicemen and Persons with disability(PWD) are available

(a) Discipline-wise vis-à-vis post Category-wise number of vacancies mentioned above is
purely provisional and subject to variation without notice.
(b) Reservation for Physically Handicapped / Challenged fall under the category of horizontal
reservation which cuts across vertical reservation i.e., reservation for SC/ST/OBC (in what is
called inter-locking reservation). The person selected against the Physically
Handicapped/Challenged quota have to be placed in the appropriate category of General
(unreserved), SC/ST/OBC, as the case may be.

Eligibility Criteria

Posts are to be filled by direct recruitment of Apprentices through selection of
candidates holding National Apprenticeship Certificate(NAC) in the relevant trade issued
by the National Council of Vocational Training
Essential Qualifications
(a) Matriculation or equivalent from recognized Institute or Board with knowledge of
English.
(b) Should have complete apprenticeship training in the trade (or) Mechanic or
equivalent with two years regular service in the appropriate Technical Branch of
the Army, Navy and Air force

Age For Direct Recruitment/ Age Relaxations

Between 18 and 25 Years, applicable to both direct recruits and ex-Naval
apprentices with relaxation as under:(i)
(ii)
(iii)

Relaxable for Government servants upto thirty five years in accordance with
instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time.
Relaxable by 03 years for OBC, 05 years for SC/ST, 10 years for PHC
candidates against reserved vacancies.
Relaxable to apprentices to the extent of the period for which the apprentices
had undergone training

Note: The age limit will be calculated as on the closing date for submission of online
recruitment applications on the web site
4.

Selection Process

(A)

All eligible candidates are required to appear for the written examination consisting of
objective type questions prepared based on the syllabus of the relevant trade and at
the discretion of the competent authority. All eligible applicants are required to attend
the written test and report at the venue two hours before the commencement of the
examination as per call letter.

(B)

CALL LETTERS WILL BE SENT SEPARTELY TO THE ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES.

5.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION:
Eligible applicants are required to apply through 'On-line application Format' available
on NDV recruitment website www.godiwadabhartee.com .
No application through other mode will; be accepted. No Original documents are
required to be sent to Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam along with the application.
(1) Before registering/submitting applications on the website the candidates should
possess the following:(a) Valid E-Mail ID. The e-mail ID entered in the online application form should
remain active until the recruitment process is completed. No change in the
e-mail ID will be allowed once entered.
(b) While applying On-line, candidate should keep the scanned copy of their
passport size color photograph and their signature in digital formal (.jpg or
jpeg file only, each less than 50kb size) for uploading with application.
(2) The candidate can access the online applications form at our website. The online
registration site would be open from 0900 hrs on ___________ to 1700 hrs on
_________________.

(3) After applying online candidate is required to download the registration slip
generated by the system with unique registration number which may be retained
for future reference AND ONE COPY OF REGISTATION SLIP BE FORWARED TO
THE ADMIRAL SUPERINTENDENT, NAVAL DOCKYARD, VISAKHAPATNAM-530014
by ordinary post.

6.

General Instructions:
(a) Only Indian Nationals can apply for the above post.
(b) Before applying for the post, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the
eligibility and other norms mentioned in the advertisement. Furnishing of
wrong/false information will be a disqualification and this Dockyard will not be
responsible for any consequences of furnishing of such wrong/false information.
(c) The eligibility with respect to age, educational qualification, apprentice etc will be
determined as on the closing date for online registration
(d) Candidates employed in Govt. departments must produce "No Objection"
certificate (NOC) at the appropriate time from their employer. In case, the
candidate fails to produce the NOC, his/her candidature will not be considered.
Candidates are required to submit a declaration that they have informed in writing
to their Head of Office/Departments that they have applied for the selection and
to be forwarded alongwith registration slip to the Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam
(e) The written test will be conducted at Visakhapatnam only.
(f) Mere appearance at the examination does not confer any right on the candidate
to claim for appointment unless he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as given in the
succeeding paragraphs.
(g) The vacancies upto the date of declaration of the final result will be considered at
the discretion of Admiral Superintendent, ND(V).The vacancies are subject to
variation and the Admiral Superintendent has the right to cancel the
advertisement/recruitment at any stage due to administrative reasons.
(h) Un-employed SC/ST candidates are entitled for 2nd class rail fare as per Govt.
rules and the same will be reimbursed at the venue of examination on submission
of tickets along with un-employment certificate (issued by a Gazetted Officer).
(i) The appointments are subject to the outcome of Hon'ble CAT/court cases, if any,
pending in these courts.
(j) The SC/ST candidates should enclose latest copy of caste certificate duly
attested by a Gazetted Officer for claiming age/other relaxation and produce
original certificate on demand. OBC candidates are required to submit ‘creamy
layer’ certificate issued by the Competent Revenue Authority not below the rank
of Tahsildar/Mandal Revenue Officer/ Revenue Divisional Officer as prescribed
vide OM No. 36012/22/93 – Estt (SCT) dated 08 Sep 93 as amended vide OM
No. 36033/3/2004/Estt(Res) dated 09 Mar 2004.

(k) The candidates who have applied for selective trades in the order of preference
will be considered for any of the trades from their basic feeder trade to the extent
of availability of vacancies.
(m) Candidates are liable to serve in any Naval Unit within Eastern Naval Command
including Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the decision of the competent authority
is final and binding.
(n) Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of
recruitment process or after recruitment or joining if any information provided by
the candidate is found to be false or is not found in conformity with eligibility
criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
