Greater Kashmir SRINAGAR | July 14, 2014, Monday epaper.GreaterKashmir.com facebook.com/DailyGreaterKashmir 07 twitter.com/GreaterKashmir_ IS ANYBODY LISTENING ? This refers to the professional beggars, on prowl in length and breadth of Srinagar limits particularly near shrines, mosques, temples, educational institutions, hospitals/ primary health centres, petrol filling stations and amusement parks. Whosoever comes across their eyes is compelled to pay something. People are totally confused how to get rid of this trouble. No doubt a human being has to extend a helping hand to deserving persons like orphans, destitute, physically challenged or mentally retarded, but not those who can easily manage their livelihood but are habitually indulged in such unwarranted profession. Time demands that both state administration and the people should collectively uproot disease from the valley. Fayaz Ahmed Khan Batamaloo Srinagar This refers to a very narrow and weak bridge that is connecting Bagh-e-Mehtab with Rawalpora via Canal Avenue. There is a board installed on both sides of Canal Avenue, displaying: “Bridge unsafe for heavy vehicles-R&B Chadoora.” But in spite of this, the trucks/tippers loaded with bricks, soil and sand ply through the Avenue all through the day. The movement of trucks and tippers on this route puts the life of school going children in danger. Recently a barrier for heavy vehicles has been erected on one side of Canal Avenue but still the tippers ply through the bridge taking an alternate route via a by-lane which leads to Canal Avenue and as a result the tippers now move in the interiors thereby posing a greater threat to life. We appeal the concerned officials to stop this and spare us from any untoward incident. Shabir Ahmad Canal Avenue, Rawalpora, Srinagar Network problem We, the people of Habdipora, Shopian have a problem with the signal strength of Reliance network. We appeal to the Reliance authorities to rectify the system in our area as despite many requests, the low network problem seems not to abate. Mushtaq Ahmad Tantray Habdipora, Shopian Power cuts We, the residents of Sundipora Budgam are facing problem of regular power cuts. Sometimes it remains continuously off for days together. Nisar Hussain Allaie Sundipora Budgam Kangan’s woes This refers to the life here in our villages that indicate our still living in ancient era when people used to live under rule of jungle, where there were no roads, no connectivity, no sanitation, no bridges. Kangan market has turned into a garbage dumping site and dog menace has touched the heights. Despite being a Tehsil, the main market has no proper sanitation facilities. The villages near forests are still connected partially as there are temporary bridges over life threatening River Sindh. We, the residents of the area appeal government to devise a comprehensive development plan for the Tehsil. Jameel Khan Kangan, Ganderbal Class IV posts This refers to the class IV posts advertised by the Handicrafts department in 2011 for which Pesky road This is the condition of roads in our locality Mohalla Syed Afzal. It is difficult to travel on it and people hardly manage to walk on the pebble-strewn road. The State Chief Minister is requested to take cognizance and order action. Kaisar Ali Baba Mohalla Syed Afzal A dilapidated structure standing precariously at Nowhatta, Srinagar. interview was conducted in the same year. But unfortunately till date the final selection list hasn’t been published. We, the aspirants appeal to the State Chief Minister to kindly look into the matter personally and ask the concerned minister and the department to publish the final list as soon as possible, because we aspirants are smelling rat in the unnecessary delay. Sajad Ahmad An aspirant Why delay This refers to the district health society Bandipora which has advertised various parmedical courses in February 2014. However, till date no selection has been made. Even in the same month other districts also advertised same posts but made selections two months ago. We appeal to the Health Minister to intervene to stop the delay. Javaid Ibn Yousuf Ganastan, Sumbal Bandipora PIC: HABIB NAQASH/GK Damaged road Bus service This refers to village Tujan of district Pulwama where a link road through Aparipora to main road, which connects to Chadoora, is in deteriorating condition. Pits are seen everywhere besides stones left unlevelled, creating a lot of problems to the native people particularly drivers to drive over it. We hope concerned authorities will approach the matter and solve it at an earliest. Naseer Ahmad Dar Tujan, Pulwama This refers to the poor bus service from Qasbayar to Pulwama via Shadimarg. We, the students of Degree College Pulwama from Qasbayar and Shadimarg are facing lot of problems while travelling at least 20 kms. There is only one small bus which plies to Achgoza and passes through Qasbayar. Apart from this, no bus service is available for we people. There is sumo facility but we can’t afford to pay sumo fare daily as we are going to study not to duty. We appeal to the ARTO Pulwama to please direct transporters to run one more bus to the Qasbayar in the morning and evening so that we can reach colleges, schools in time. Sheikh Tariq Qasbayar, Pulwama Shops please We, the shopkeepers of Kashmir Haat are not being given shops as our shops were demolished with the promise that we would be given new ones in the new Kashmir Haat Complex. Our families were dependent on the income from those shops. We request the government to take a quick action on the matter and allot us shops as quick as possible. Saif Rambagh, Srinagar established in 1964 as Primary School. However, after passage of 50 years, the school witnessed no upgradation.
