SRINAGAR | July 23, 2014, Wednesday Greater Kashmir C TY Get separate set of books for summer vacations: Pvt school to students Parents appeal DSEK Srinagar, July 22: Parents of students studying in a private group of schools have condemned its diktat for purchase of separate set of books for summer vacations. A delegation of parents said the school management through SMS directed them to purchase separate books for Ist to 7th standard from private book stores at Nowgam, Raj Bagh and Bagh-e-Mehtab. “Purchasing separate set of books for summer vacations sans logic and seems to be purely a money minting exercise. Our wards are already overburdened with their syllabus and this move will compound their problems,” the parents said adding last year the same school asked the students to wear different color uniforms on different working days. “We make fervent appeal to Director Education to personally look into the matter and save us from unnecessary burden,” the parents said. epaper.GreaterKashmir.com facebook.com/DailyGreaterKashmir Readers can email their write-ups to City Page for Colony Woes, We the Srinagarites and other columns. citypageeditor@greaterkashmir.com Garbage cans irk SMHS Hospital wards twitter.com/GreaterKashmir_ DISCLAIMER: Views expressed in We The Srinagarites column are author’s own Narparistan seeks streetlight repairs GK CITY REPORTER Srinagar, J u l y 22: The residents of Narparistan near Tiny Tots School Fateh Kadal have complained that streetlights installed in the area are defunct.
