Spend funds on genuine
cricketing activities
only, JKCA tells officials

Srinagar, Aug 1: Expressing displeasure over ‘wasteful expenditures’ on functions
and shows, the J&K Cricket
Association (JKCA) has asked
its officials to ensure money
is spent on genuine cricketing activities only. In a first
of its kind notification, JKCA
General Secretary, ML Nehru,
after being miffed over operations of the Association’s
Jammu Wing, has issued a
notice asking the officials
and office bearers not to waste
the cricket body’s money on
“unwanted functions”.
The notification makes it
clear for the officials that the
funds sanctioned are meant
for cricketing purpose only
and are not to be wasted on
other activities. “Expenditures have to be authorized
and are meant for cricket
development and not only for
functions and shows. Persons
spending JKCA funds have to
undertake that expenditure is
made only on genuine cricketing activities and as per rules
and regulations and with due
approvals and sanctions”,

the circular reads. “Proper
estimate and details of expenditures to be made are to be
formulated and it cannot be
a free all affair. Simple allotment of funds is not the issue
but what matters is proper
spending on genuine activities and proper accounting is
what matters,” it reads. In the
statement Nehru has made it
clear to officials that a large
number of observers and
other officials are not needed
during coaching camps and
other related activities.
“Appointing large number
of observers, overall observers and coaches and camp in
charges cannot be approved.
Minimum necessary management staff has to be deployed
to achieve the required
objectives. Stress has to be
laid on real objectivity and
not on publicity and shows
and demand for allotment of
funds. JKCA funds are meant
for all cricketers of J&K and
not for office bearers to play
with these (sic) on unauthorized activity. All office bearers have to follow a code of
administrative discipline
and conduct,” it reads.

JKPDC move draws flak
Srinagar, Aug 1: Valley’s
sports fraternity has criticized the J&K State Power
Development Corporation
(JKPDC) for not reviving
contracts of its incumbent
football players and going
ahead with fresh selections.
The Football Players Welfare Association (FPWA)
in a statement issued here,
termed the move as “sheer
injustice” and asked JKPDC
to revoke its decision.
“First you recruit players
for the team and after having
them with you for four years
you opt to throw them out
and recruit altogether a new
team through open selection
trials. The already contracted
players were also recruited
through selection trials four
years ago, thus ruining their
careers,” FPWA statement
quoted its President Mehrajuddin Wadoo as saying.
“If JKPDC didn’t have a
concrete policy for setting

up a team and were to make
appointments on temporary
basis then it should never
have framed the team. It is
sheer injustice on part of
the authorities to not provide permanent jobs to players. We request everyone to
stand for the cause and help
these beleaguered players to
get justice,” the statement
further added. J&K Sports
Development Association
(JKSDA) Vice-President Altafur-Rehman in a statement has
asked JKPDC to roll back the
decision or face consequences.
“We can’t allow JKPDC to
ruin careers of these talented
players and go ahead with the
plan to ruin careers of another lot of talented footballers.
We can’t allow it,” he further
said. “JKPDC should do justice with existing players and
adjust them in the department
and only after that they should
go ahead with recruiting ne
players”, he added.

Parvez Rasool cameo
helps India-A secure win
Srinagar, Aug 1: Coming
out to bat at number 7, Parvez
Rasool on Thursday hit an
unbeaten 20 runs to help
India-A secure a five wicket
win against Australia-A in
the ongoing Quadrangular
one-day series at Oval.
When Ambati Rayudu’s
wicket fell, India needed 38
runs from 7.4 overs and needed
someone to play a cameo.
Parvez, upon coming on to
bat was the answer for India’s
prayers, scoring 20 runs from
16 deliveries that included
three important boundaries.
He along with Sanju Samson
made it sure that India secure
a comfortable five wicket win
with 13 balls to spare.
Earlier batting first the
Aussies scored 228 runs in
49.4 overs. MP Stoinis and PJ
Hughes top scored with 58 runs
each. For India-A M Tiwary
took five wickets while as A
Patel took three. Rayudu and
Parvez Rasool took one wicket
each. In reply India achieved
the required target for the loss

of five wickets in 47.5 overs.
A Rayudu top scored with 77
while as K Jadhav scored 52.
India A finished with five
wins in six games while Australia A stand second with
four wins out of six. The
teams will meet in the final
to be played on Saturday in
Darwin. Speaking with Greater Kashmir Parvez said that he
is still waiting for a chance to
show his talent with the bat.
“Alhamdulillah I am
happy to contribute with
the bat in the team’s win.
Whenever I got a chance to
bat there was never enough
time to settle down and same
was the case today,” he said.
“I am looking for the chances to contribute to the team
in whatever manner I can.
The tour has already helped
me a lot and I have learned a
number of new things from
the players with and against
whom I have played so far.
Now the team is looking forward to the finals and we hope
to lift the trophy,” he added.

27th Atya Patya Junior
Championship from August 3
Jammu, Aug 1: The 3-day long
27th Junior Atya Patya National
Championship is being held in
Jammu, the winter capital of the
State from August 3 to Aguust
5, 2014 at the grounds of GGM
Science College. This was disclosed by Dr. Vinod Bakshi,
President Jammu and Kashmir
Atya Patya Association.

inauguration of the first ever
tournament in the State will
be held on August 03 in which

will be attended by Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Planning and
Development and NC Additional
General Secretary Dr. Mustafa
Kamal. 600 players from 20
states both girls and boys will
be participating, the members
of the association said.
Although it is for the first time
that this tournament is being
held in our state and that too in
Jammu; it is nothing alien and is
very much like our local game
Kho-Kho, they said. They also
said that the spade work for this
tournament was being done for
the last more than four months
and expressed their gratitude
to the host college for providing logistic support.

will have to pay a fee as prescribed before Medical check-up.
NOTE-1:
Mere calling a candidate(s) for Medical Examination shall not confer any right
on him/her/them to be recommended for selection, which shall depend upon
his/her/their position in the merit list and subject to the medical fitness for the
services and also the availability of posts in the service.
NOTE-2:
Detailed marks card shall be dispatched to all the candidates after completion
of the examination process and forwarding the select list to the government
for making appointments.
NOTE-3:
Any candidate who has taken the examination and is desirous of undertaking
scrutiny of his/her marks and rechecking of his/her result in accordance with J&K
Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examinations) Rules, 2005 may apply to
the Commission within one month from the date of declaration of the result for
which a fee of Rs.100/- per paper through a Demand Draft drawn from any branch
of J&K Bank Ltd. in favour of Secretary & Controller of Examinations J&K Public
Service Commission. The scrutiny shall in no case mean any re-evaluation of the
marks awarded by the Examiner and would mean rechecking of the totaling of
the marks awarded by the Examiner and if any question has been left unmarked.
The listsnotified are subject to the outcome of writ petition pending before any
Competent Court of jurisdiction.

was conducted from 01.03.2014 to 03.04.2014 both at Jammu and Srinagar; and
Whereas,1969candidates appeared in all papers; and
Whereas, as per the criteria fixed by the Commission in accordance with the
rules under SRO 387 of 2008 dated 01.12.2008 as amended from time to time,
341 candidates were declared to have qualified for interview; and
Whereas, the interview of the said candidates was conducted
w.e.f23.06.2014 to 21.07.2014; and
Whereas, only 340 candidates appeared in the interview and 01 candidate
viz, Mohd Anzer (RollNo.2003270) did not appear in the interview.
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions contained in SRO 387 of
2008 dated 01.12.2008, read with J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of
Examinations) Rules 2005 as well as the above decision taken by the Commission;
i)		the result of 340 candidates who had appeared in Combined Competitive
Examination 2013 andinterviews at Srinagar w.e.f. 23.06.2014 to
21.07.2014 is hereby notified as per Annexure-I to this notification.
ii)		consequent upon (i) above 99 candidates as per Annexure-II to this
notification and other rules on the subject, in order of their aggregate
merit in the written as well as interview read with J&K Reservation Rules
(SRO 294) are hereby directed to report to the respective Medical Board
as indicated against each for conduct of their Medical Examination in
accordance with rules on the subject.
Necessary intimation to the candidates as per Annexure-II called for Medical
Examination is being sent separately. However, those who do not receive the call
letters should presume this notification as call letter and report to the Principal
Medical College Srinagar/Jammu as the case may be for Medical Examination.
The dates for Medical Examination shall be notified separately. The candidate
